The Reason I've Lost Clients Over Photoshop

I don’t photoshop women. Yes, I have lost clients over it, and I’m okay with that. I am not here to sell you a lie, help you fall in love with a lie, or confirm the lies that filters and social media have been feeding you for years. I am here to help you realize you don’t need all of that. God made you this way for a reason and it’s time we stop editing His work and start embracing who we actually are.

Here’s the part people don’t really talk about. If I were to photoshop your body and you came in for your reveal, you might look at the images and say how beautiful they are. But you would also know they were altered. You would know your body had been changed, your skin smoothed, your shape adjusted. And eventually, that thought creeps in: "I wish I actually looked like that". There is no power in that moment. There is no confidence built there, no belief, no real proof that I truly see you as beautiful if I had to change how you look.

The power comes from something completely different. You come into your session nervous and unsure, carrying years of doubt about yourself. As we start shooting, I'll show you the back of the camera, and little by little, something shifts. You begin to believe in yourself. You start to see what I see. You realize that maybe you were never the problem to begin with. You leave your session feeling lighter, stronger, and more confident than when you walked in.

Then you come back about two weeks later for your reveal, and you see the proof sitting right in front of you. Your body hasn’t been photoshopped. I didn’t remove your laugh lines. I didn’t erase your scars or make you a few pounds lighter. You see yourself exactly as you are, and you find yourself thinking, oh my gosh, these are so beautiful… I can’t believe I actually look like that. That moment is where everything clicks, because it confirms what you felt on the day of your session. It proves that your confidence wasn’t a fluke and that your beauty was never created by editing.

That is why I don’t photoshop and that is why I never will. I won't help you fall in love with something that isn’t real. I will NOT sell you a lie but I will show you the truth. And the truth is that you are f*cking stunning exactly as you are.
